Brian W. Hofmeister concentrates his practice in all areas of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies for both individual and corporate entities, Creditor Rights, commercial litigation at both the State and Federal levels, Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors on behalf of Assignees and Assignors, and representation of Chapter 7 and 11 trustees, creditors, landlords, creditor committees, lenders and receivers.

 
  • Mr. Hofmeister is a frequent lecturer for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and has been a presenter at the Mercer County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education and the Honorable William H. Gindin Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference.
  • In 1999, Mr. Hofmeister was appointed to serve for the Office of Attorney Ethics, State of New Jersey, Mercer County.
  • From 1990 through 1991, Mr. Hofmeister served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Stephen A. Stripp (Ret.), United States Bankruptcy Judge, District of New Jersey, where he had primary responsibility for case load preparation, research and drafting of opinions. While serving as a judicial law clerk, Mr. Hofmeister was directly involved in the research and writing of two published opinions limiting the scope of New Jersey's environmental statutes under the United States Bankruptcy Code.
  • Upon his completion of his judicial law clerkship with Judge Stripp, Mr. Hofmeister joined the firm of Hanoch Weisman as an associate in the firm's Litigation Department and had been practicing primarily in the area of creditor's rights and bankruptcy. Mr. Hofmeister was involved with all phases of counseling for and litigating on behalf of creditors with respect to troubled loans and credit relationships. His experience in the practice of creditor's rights enabled him to develop and carry out sophisticated litigation plans designed to maximize a creditor's recovery.
  • From 1994 through 1999, Mr. Hofmeister was an associate with the firm of Markowitz & Zindler where he concentrated his practice in the areas of debtor/creditor rights, bankruptcy, commercial litigation and representing Chapter 7 & 11 trustees, debtors, landlords, creditors' committees, lenders and receivers as well as representing clients in general litigation and transactional work.
  • In 2000, Mr. Hofmeister joined the firm of Teich Groh, where he became a partner in 2005, and continued to concentrate his practice in the areas of debtor/creditor rights, bankruptcy, commercial litigation as well as the representation of Chapter 7 & 11 trustees, landlords, creditors' committees, lenders and receivers, and representing clients in general litigation and transactional work.
  • At the end of 2013, the firm of Teich Groh dissolved and Mr. Hofmeister opened his own practice continuing to protect the interests of debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy matters. Mr. Hofmeister also represents Chapter 7 & 11 trustees, landlords, creditors' committees, lenders and receivers and handles all aspects of commercial litigation.
